District Honors OMS Principal Jeff Clay as 2015 Administrator of the Year
Oxford, Mississippi (March 30, 2015) — Oxford Middle School Principal Jeff Clay is the 2015 Oxford School District (OSD) Administrator of the Year. He was presented with the professional recognition award at the district’s Board of Trustees March meeting.
During the meeting, OSD Superintendent Brian Harvey read a few things Clay’s professional peers had to say about him. Of course, all comments echoed why the district chose him as this school year’s top school administrator:
- “He models leadership qualities and is a visionary. He isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions or have the hard conversations. Everything he does is centered on the philosophy of what is best for our students.”
- “He is one of the hardest working school administrators I have ever known. He’s diligent, patient and does what is best for the students. He is a joy to know.”
- “He is a true instructional leader who extends himself above and beyond the call of duty.”
Harvey added that Clay “is truly one of the hardest working people I have had the opportunity to work with. He created his own professional learning community for other school administrators on his very own. He organized a series of meetings for administrators to participate in so that they can improve in their craft…that’s just how dedicated he is to public education and the school district.”
Clay has worked in the educational field since 1996 and has been with the Oxford School District since 2007. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Millsaps College and a master’s degree from Austin Peay State University. Also, he has his Specialist in Education degree from Mississippi College. He resides in Oxford, Mississippi, with his wife, Holli.
