4th Annual Charger Challenge
Description
The Oxford School District Foundation (OSDF) will host the 4th Annual Charger Challenge on September 20, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the newly renovated Oxford Middle School campus at 222 Bramlett Boulevard in Oxford. The free event is a great opportunity for Oxford School District families to spend the day together enjoying family-friendly activities.
“The family carnival is free and will feature booths like face painting, tattoos and art; events like sack races, speed pitching, a football toss and long jumping, as well as challenges like the soccer shootout and foot races,” said one of the organizers, Desiree Hensley, who is also an OSDF board member.
Created by the Oxford School District Foundation in 2011, the Charger Challenge has been so successful that the group decided to keep on hosting it. Collectively, in its first three years, more than 1,000 people have attended.
The University of Mississippi baseball and track and field teams will be there to work with the children who attend. Oxford high school and middle school cheerleaders and dance team members will also be at the Charger Challenge, and there will be a stage with performances ongoing throughout the event. Refreshments are available for purchase on site, but you can also bring a picnic.
In case of rain, the event will move inside the school.
