Welcome to Oxford High School for the 2013-2014 school year. We anticipate another outstanding year. The OHS faculty is excited to meet the incoming freshmen class as well as our returning sophomores, juniors and seniors. Oxford High School has always been a dynamic place for learning. There is a long tradition of excellence, which we are dedicated to continuing.

Thursday April 24, 2014

  • The Spanish Club will have a meeting tonight at Casa Mexicana at 6:00 p.m. Come and join us for some good food! 
  • Hall of Fame Essays and List of Activities are due by the end of the school day this Friday, April 25. The essays and lists should be turned in to Ms. Jones or Dr. McLarty in the Counseling Center.
  • Oxford High School's Prom was a magical success, thanks to the hard work of the school's PTO. The PTO's dedication to providing food, decorations, door prizes plus the countless hours of planning and volunteering are appreciated by OHS students and staff and are truly reasons why OHS in Wonderland Prom 2014 was a hit this school year.     4:00 at OHS in the Girls Fitness Room located in the gym. I will be there early so you can stretch and get ready!

    When you have finished your tryout, you are excused.
    Results will be posted on one of the gym doors and perhaps on the website sometime after 8:30pm. It will be by tryout number, Not your name.
  • OHS Theatre: The last production of the season opens this week at the Powerhouse! BOEING BOEING will perform at 7:30 PM Friday, April 25 and at 2:00 PM both Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. Seating is limited to less than 100 per performance, so reserve your seats now! See Mr. Davenport for details.
  • Varsity Boys’ Basketball Tryouts: May 5 & 6, 2014
    Any high school boy interested in trying out for the 2014-2015 Boy's Basketball Team will need to attend tryouts on Monday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the "New" OHS gym.
  • The Boys and Girls Club will be closed for the rest of the week.
  • Boys’ Soccer Tryouts will be Wednesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 8 for upcoming 9-12th graders (current 8-11th graders). Tryouts begin at 4 pm each day at the current middle school field.
  • High School Girls Basketball tryouts will be held May 13-15 from 4-6 pm at the High School Gym. Tryouts are open to any Oxford student in grades 8-11.
    In order to tryout, you must have a current physical. You must also have shorts, shirt and basketball shoes.

  • Girls’ JV and Varsity Soccer Tryouts will be held Monday, April 28-Wednesday, April 30 at the middle school field from 3:30-5:30. The format will be as follows:
    • Monday, April 28 — CURRENT 6th, 7th, and 8th graders only
    • Tuesday, April 29 — CURRENT 9th, 10th, and 11th graders only
    • Wednesday, April 30 — ALL AGES
  • OHS PTO Kroger Drive
    A party prize will be awarded to one class per grade for securing the most registrations. The teacher for each winning class will also receive a grand prize: Tickets to the Ford Center, Dinner for two at Lenora’s and a night’s stay at The Inn at Ole Miss!
